Ifrah Foundation is seeking to recruit four consultants to undertake the following roles:
 

  • Accountant

  • Project Officer

  • 2 x Project Focal Points (1 x Kismayo, 1 x Baidoa)

Each role will be on a consultancy basis, with Ifrah Foundation, for a period of 5 months.

Accountant

  Overview   

 

Ifrah Foundation is an implementing partner with UNWomen and UNFPA in Somalia, delivering programmes and activities to end Female Genital Mutilation through our Dear Daughter Campaign. 

We now need to engage a Accountant to work closely with Ifrah Foundation to coordinate the delivery of this programme.

  Terms of reference  

This role will:

  • Take responsibly for Ifrah Foundation accounting and financial controls in Somalia, in close collaboration with the Executive Director and Programme Directors. Develop detailed budget to support activities and programmes planned by Ifrah Foundation.

  • Oversee the disbursement and spending of all monies relating to these programmes, ensuring they are in line with Ifrah Foundation Financial Procedures and the requirements of our funders.

  • Ensure all supporting documentation is kept under each spending line, including documenting of any changes to original workplans, with the prior agreement of our funders.

  • Report on spending in line with agreed budgets.

  • Do monthly financial reports and bank reconciliation for all work in Somalia.

  • Work with our accountants and auditors in Ireland as required.

Project Officer 

  Overview   

 

UN Women are supporting the Ifrah Foundation to promote positive gender norms through scaling up women’s leadership and protection from violence. Ifrah Foundation is leading on a programme designed to challenge negative social norms, through community dialogue with affected communities. The programme is grounded in a community development approach, using a UNICEF community-based model for preventing and responding to SGBV against girls and women in conflict affected settings, empowering local communities to champion women’s and girls’ rights.
 

We now need to engage a Project Officer to work closely with Ifrah Foundation to coordinate the delivery of this programme.

  Terms of reference  

This role will:

  • Ensure that the programme is delivered in accordance with agreed terms, in a timely manner and completed within it’s the 6-month timeframe.

  • Manage Project Focal Points, one in Kismayo and one in Baidoa.

  • Coordinate the recruitment and training of Community Dialogue Leaders and oversee their training, in close collaboration with each Focal Point.

  • Identify both FGM Champions and stakeholders in Community Structures, in conjunction with each focal point and coordinate their training.

  • Ensure the Dear Daughter Campaign forms part of the programme and pledging is presented an potential action when participants come to taking action.

  • Work with the Ifrah Foundation Media Team to ensure maximum coverage of events and initiatives across a varied of media from TV to radio and print.
